St Augustine’s must be one of the most unique wedding venues in Kent. With five elegant banqueting rooms, a romantic garden gazebo and a magnificent chapel. Fascinatingly it’s also the only venue in England that can offer a civil ceremony, chapel blessing and wedding reception all under one roof.

Of course, you’ll want to offer your guests  fabulous food on your big day and  one of St Augustine’s best accolades is it’s cuisine. For your wedding you can choose from a sumptuous banquet or a refined buffet  and with such a large selection of dishes on offer, there is sure to be something to delight everyone.

Do you offer civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies?

Yes we can offer both civil marriages & civil partnerships in all our rooms and our outdoor Gazebo is also licensed. We also can offer a religious blessing of any denomination in our deconsecrated chapel.

Do couples & their wedding party have exclusive use of your venue?

All weddings have venue exclusivity up until 5.30pm and for an additional fee can continue the exclusivity throughout the night.

Tell us just a little about any wedding packages you offer

With huge flexibility, we can tailor a package to suit your particular needs and budget. From your full traditional day to our more relaxed and informal ‘Twilight’ package that sees’s couple marry in the romance of the sunset.

Do you have in-house catering, or preferred suppliers or are couples free to choose their own caterers?

We have an amazing in house catering team with our food being of the highest reputation. We do offer outside catering as an option as we host a lot of cultural weddings at the venue due to our larger capacity. Indian, Caribbean, Greek, Nigerian to name just a few this year!

Can couples supply their own alcohol for the evening? Is there a corkage fee?

We have great in house inclusive drinks packages. For £17.80 per guests we will include a celebration drink of your choice, ½ bottle of wine and toast drink for speeches.

With an ample selection of wines and spirits and an impressive cocktail menu all tastes are catered for at reasonable bar prices and we are always more than happy to source items that are particular to the couple’s day if requested.

Are couples completely free to choose their own wedding entertainment & do you have a specific sound system?

Couples are free to choose their own wedding entertainment. We have recommended suppliers for the venue but as each couple has their own specific tastes and requirements for their band or DJ we allow couples to choose their own.

We have a P.A system in place in every room and our gazebo to amplify speeches/vows and is loud enough for entrance and background music but not loud enough for an evening party.

Do you offer accommodation on site? If so, for how many guests?

Unfortunately we don’t have accommodation on site (at the moment…watch this space!) but we do have deals in place with local hotels to be able to offer our couples the best value rooms for themselves and their guests.

We do however have a luxurious bridal suite on site that the bride and her party have access to from 9am to have their hair and makeup done on site. We also have a ‘Grooms Room’ on the opposite wing of the building where the guys can get their suits on and have a cheeky drink or two before the day begins.

Do you have an in-house wedding co-ordinator?

We have a team of 4 full time wedding co-ordinators. Each booking is dedicated their own co-ordinator who goes through every stage of the wedding plans with you. Every meeting, menu tasting, finalising details they are on hand to prompt, advise and support you every step of the way.

On the morning of the big day your wedding co-ordinator will be on site to greet you as your arrive and go through your day with you giving you the reassurance they have total understanding of exactly how you want your day to run.

How far in advance can couples or their wedding stylist, florist etc have access to the venue in order to decorate it?

We are licensed for weddings 7 days a week so it will always depend on the bookings before your day. We will always guarantee access to all suppliers at 9am on the day of your wedding however we are flexible to arrange earlier access if required. We have an in house venue stylist that is more than happy to help with the decoration of the venue as part of our service.

Do you have gardens or an outdoor area for wedding photographs?

We have stunning secluded south facing gardens to the rear of the venue. The picturesque white gazebo and the ever popular photo opportunity on our brides swing.

The cherry blossom and magnolia tree truly capture the best photos in spring months with brides booking specifically in that season to have those images in their wedding album!

What’s your best advice to couples when choosing their perfect wedding venue?

Finding the right venue is the biggest and hardest decision of your wedding plans. Once you have your venue everything around it will start to fall into place. View a variation of venues as sometimes the one you didn’t expect turns out to be ‘the one’, a bit like with the wedding dress!

Ask as many questions as you need too, don’t ever feel you’ve asked too many, the venues job is to give you all the information you need to make your choice!

A venue should never try to rush you into securing a date or a deposit. When you walk in and get the Goosebumps moment and as soon as you close your eyes you can imagine it being your day surrounded by your family and friends… that’s when you have found the one.

Any finally, what are your favourite moments from previous wedding you’ve been involved with?

We have hosted so many variations of weddings each one being special to us for so many reason. One of my favourites from last year was a stunning Indian Sikh bride marrying an Irish Catholic groom. If I work in weddings till the day I retire I doubt I will see the coming together of traditions and cultures that I did that day! Truly memorable.
