We’re delighted to introduce you to Keslowena Confetti. Did you know that Keslowena is the Cornish word for Congratulations? Well, you do now.
Keslowena supply beautiful petal confetti mixes using the language of flowers to put together unique combinations of confetti that not only look lovely but have specific meanings, depending on the variety of petals used. You can even have your own bespoke confetti made up for your big day.
Not only do Keslowena have a great range of petal confetti to choose from, but you can also purchase a selection of confetti cones and even confetti crackers. The crackers are such a fabulous idea and can be used for the camera friendly big confetti moment, we also love the idea of using them as table decorations and even wedding favours, how original is that?
Keslowena also supply dried rosebuds and rose petals which are absolutely ideal for scattering on tables at your venue. This would be a perfect backdrop for vintage inspired cottage garden themes, or indeed any wedding theme where you want to add a touch of romance and glamour to your décor.
Over to Becky and Megan now to talk all things confetti.
Tell us a little about yourself and your business
Keslowena Confetti was created in early 2016 by Becky and her mum, Megan. Our business is based in Cornwall and we love living here. We believe that every wedding is the most special day for each couple and we work hard to make sure we do our bit to make it as gorgeous and as special as we can! We are also very conscious of the environment and many of the components of our products are either bio-degradable or recyclable.
We incorporate the language of the flowers and herbs used, into the confetti mixes. We offer four ‘off the shelf’ mixes, each representing different meanings – Romance, Joy, Grace and Vitality. We also offer a personalised service offering couples the chance to have their own bespoke confetti mix, they can add any colour, meaning or even biodegradable glitter. Harry Potter themed confetti has been very popular recently! The limit really is your imagination.
Since then we have used the gorgeous petals we work with and our confetti mixes to go on and extend the range of products we offer.
What motivated you to start your business?
We got the idea after Becky’s wedding, where Megan had created a gorgeous, personalised confetti mix. Each flower and herb used had their own meaning which all came together perfectly to tell our story.
All the guests at the wedding loved the idea of the confetti mix and our photos were amazing and so the idea of Keslowena was born! We wanted to bring the language of flowers into confetti for couples all over the country.
Tell us a little more about the day to day activities of your business
A day at Keslowena usually starts with the admin side of things, like customer emails, or contacting various suppliers. We could be making up an order for a couple, or helping them out with each stage of creating their bespoke mix.
We always try to take as many pictures of the products for Instagram as well, simply because we think they’re so beautiful.
If our readers were to order from you, what can they expect?
An order from Keslowena comes beautifully presented in ivory organza bags, either a big 1 litre bag, or a smaller bag. Around the neck of the bag is a scroll tied up with a charm, and the scroll contains the meaning of the confetti mix you’ve ordered.
With any 1 litre bag we also send out 2 gorgeous postcards which have a picture of the confetti and the meaning as well. These can be used to display around the confetti station, or I know some couples even like to keep them as a memento of the big day.
We have high standards and always aim to give couples the best product as we want each order to be perfect for our couples.
How can couples judge if a company is the right fit for their wedding?
Gut feeling! As you talk to different suppliers you’ll soon discover who ‘gets’ you and your wedding ideas, and from there you’ll soon find the right products and services for you.
What are your favourite moments from previous weddings you’ve been involved with?
Definitely our first big wedding. It was a last minute order, so we were running around Cornwall making sure that everything was perfect for our couple.
We love a challenge, so seeing it all come together was wonderful. The confetti moment photographs were magic, it’s the best part of the job.
The bigger picture – does your business offer goods/services outside of the wedding world? Tell us more
We don’t particularly offer exclusive products for suppliers only at the moment, but we’ve found that other suppliers will order our confetti for their couples. We’ve had florists and photographers order our products in the past and work with venues …..
What have you got planned for the next 12 months?
Over the next 12 months we aim to have a fully cohesive ‘confetti experience’ available. Couples will be able to order their chosen confetti, and then if they wish have the mix incorporated into a petal orb which can then be used for decoration or even thank-you gifts for the people who helped with the wedding.
We’ve also recently just launched confetti crackers as well. Again, these can contain any of our petal mixes, and can be used as table settings or even another way to shower the couple in confetti when used as a guard arch.
And finally, what or who inspires you and why?
As a family run business, we definitely inspire each other. We can bounce ideas off the other person, and we work brilliantly as a team. We both have different strengths as well, so we’re always learning from the other.
