Tell us about your venue

The Little Theatre Cinema, a unique little venue full of 1930s character and charm and hidden away in Bath’s spa quarter. It is here where the Little Weddings Team offer a range of packages from vintage extravaganza to a more simple and modest affair.

One of the most exciting reasons to have a Little Wedding is the use of our projection and sound facilities to add that personal touch. Imagine your own film, photomontages and even faux-movie trailers playing on the big screen as your guests arrive. The only limitation is your imagination!

Do you offer civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies?

Yes – essentially our venue can be hired for any form of wedding ceremony. We are fully licensed.

Do couples & their wedding party have exclusive use of your venue?

As we are a working cinema unfortunately couples do not have exclusive use of the entire venue, however the screen and associated spaces are theirs during their booking.

Other patrons are extremely respectful and aim to be unobtrusive. We also time things to have the least impact on crucial elements of the day.

Venue capacity – How many guests can attend the day ceremony, if applicable, wedding breakfast & the evening reception?

We have two screens available for hire, our smaller screen can host 65 with no disabled access whilst our bigger screen has a capacity of 110 including disabled access and two wheelchair spaces. We offer the venue for ceremony and drinks reception only.

Tell us just a little about any wedding packages you offer

We offer two distinct packages which can be altered or tailored to each wedding.

Screen One weddings are for larger, grander affairs which showcase fully the art deco features and style of the cinema. We aim to offer a Vintage Hollywood-esque feel to the day which includes a red carpet entrance for arrival and the drinks reception. Previous weddings have thoroughly run with the theme and have created some magical ‘movie moments’ for their special day.

Screen Two weddings are for smaller, more intimate ceremonies with a smaller capacity of 65 guests and use of the bar area for drinks reception. For film fans looking to really encapsulate the feel of retro cinema in their day this is an ideal choice.

Both packages include within the two hour timeslot full use of the screen and sound equipment, decorations, 30 portions of popcorn, staff in vintage outfits, a dedicated co-ordinator to run your day, projection costs and a drinks reception (drinks to be provided by couple).

We offer space for bespoke posters to be displayed for both screens, and Screen One also includes a confetti fan.

Do you have in-house catering, or preferred suppliers or are couples free to choose their own caterers?

We have suppliers we recommend however couples are free to choose their own caterers or provide drinks themselves. We do however provide popcorn from our in-house kiosk.

Can couples supply their own alcohol for the evening? Is there a corkage fee?

For the drinks reception couples must provide their own drinks and there is a corkage fee for alcoholic beverages.

Are couples completely free to choose their own wedding entertainment & do you have a specific sound system?

We are fully licensed for all music and have a specific sound system. Projection costs are built into the venue hire fee – usually couples look to have homemade films or photo slideshows shown on the screen which incur no additional charges.

Any licensed films (or small clips from films) do incur charges – this will depend on the distributor and vary. We have recently shown a lot of Pixar shorts either prior to ceremonies or in place of a reading with prices starting from £50+ including VAT.

Do you offer accommodation on site? If so, for how many guests?

We do not offer accommodation however we have a fantastic hotel we recommend who offer a discounted package to couples and wedding parties.

Do you have an in-house wedding co-ordinator?

We have two co-ordinators who work in sync to ensure everything is organised and run efficiently for couples.

How far in advance can couples or their wedding stylist, florist etc have access to the venue in order to decorate it?

This will depend on each specific wedding, generally drinks are delivered the day before the wedding. Flowers, decorations and other items can be delivered the morning of the wedding. Unfortunately we have limited storage space for many items.

Do you have gardens or an outdoor area for wedding photographs?

We are based in the heart of Bath and our venue is surrounded by gorgeous Georgian architecture which provides beautiful backdrops for outdoor photos – even if the sun isn’t shining they look superb!

What’s your best advice to couples when choosing their perfect wedding venue?

Make sure to arrange a visit and trust your instincts. You’ll know your perfect wedding venue as soon as you step foot in the door.

And finally, what are your favourite moments from previous wedding you’ve been involved with?

Personal favourite moments include having a choir re-enact the surprise serenade from ‘Love Actually’, a DeLorean collect the bride after the ceremony and most recently an incredibly sweet homemade vintage film depicting the courtship of a couple.
