Renee and Chen wanted the freedom to celebrate their wedding their way, so they decided on a elopement wedding with the most wonderful natural backdrops.
Renee choose two exquisite dresses from Aneberry Bridal in London. The first being a gorgeous elegant figure hugging gown, whilst Renee’s second dress rocked a fun romantic vibe with a fluffy frilled skirt for a relaxed free spirited look. Renee looked absolutely stunning in both dresses and kept her look contemporary with minimal adornments.
Rennee and Chen travelled from China for their intimate wedding, and we think that their wild at heart adventurous spirit is captured perfectly by Jessi at Le Moment Capturer.
With so much mote to tell us about their day, we’ll hand you straight over to Renee who sets the scene for us “We started at an Airbnb flat in London in the morning. Then we walked through the Ashdown forest and finally arrived at our elopement ceremony location – Seven Sisters National Park near Brighton, where there are beautiful white cliffs.”
How did you make your day feel really personal to you as a couple?
Traditionally, a Chinese wedding is all about making the families happy so you have to sacrifices to suit everyone else. We didn’t feel we had enough freedom to have an intimate wedding that can really reflect our personalities.
So we decided to come to the UK and have an elopement wedding just for ourselves. We are both travellers, we love exploring and doing adventurous activities, an elopement wedding is a great way to travel while getting married.
What was the style of your wedding?
I’d describe our wedding as ‘intimate’, ‘adventurous’ and ‘wild at heart’.
How did you decide on your venue?
My husband lived in the UK before, and he loves British culture and the beautiful landscapes, so we decided to come back to England and explore the natural scenery.
We got in touch with our wedding stylist Michelle and photographer Jessi, they recommended Seven Sisters National Park and Ashdown forest, we thought they both looked amazing and decided to have our elopement there.
Tell us about your wedding outfits
I’d like to have a few different looks, so I chose two dresses from Aneberry Bridal. One is an elegant high neck dress with beautiful intricate lace forming a curve hugging mermaid shape.
The other is a festival looking one with delicate beadings on the corset and a fluffy skirt.
My husband decided to wear one of his own outfits, although he bought a new waistcoat from Selfridges.
What was your standout moment of your day?
We enjoyed every moment of the elopement. It is simple but everything is exactly what we wanted. The most unforgettable moment was when we were reading our vows on the white cliffs of Seven Sisters overlooking the English Channel, it still feels surreal even today.
What are your top tips for other couples planning their wedding?
Planning an elopement wedding can be tricky, as you might not be very familiar with the location you are going to and may not know where it is good for photos. I got help from Wedding Stylist Michelle and photographer Jessi. They helped arranging the whole trip and styling our elopement.
We communicated with our photographer Jessi back and forth over a month just to make sure she understood the styles we were looking to achieve for our photos.
