Tell us a little about yourself and your business

Launched in 2016, Holly Anne Blake provides sublime and timeless wedding stationery that perfectly captures the mood of your wedding and brings the location of your love story to life. Collaged illustrations, made lovingly by hand, are the focus of our stationery and on the day paper goods, and we strive to bring perfection, excellence and the personal touch to every order.

Whether you order bespoke stationery items (which includes the custom made artwork to keep and frame as a memento of your big day), or choose to make a purchase from our ever-growing range of customisable templates, we look forward to creating special and unique stationery that you and your guests can treasure forever.

What motivated you to start your business?

I wanted to wake up and love going to work in the mornings, life’s to short to live for the weekend.

My business makes it easy for me to combine my passion for creativity with a love of travel, finding out about new and interesting places and working with people who are loved-up, happy and excited about the next big adventure in their life – their marriage!

Tell us a little more about the day to day activities of your business

I spend a lot of time cutting and sticking. If it’s a studio day then I can usually be found nestled in a mound of coloured paper, cutting out shapes to make new illustrations. I have a studio in the garden at my mum’s house which is lovely! When I’m not working on the illustrations themselves then I’m working from home on my laptop.

When possible I travel and take my work with me, there’s nothing I love better than combining work and adventure! Since launching the business I’ve worked from Bali, Morocco, Singapore and most recently Venice. Prior to launching, writing my business plan on a beach in the Philippines was something special that I’ll never forget.

If our readers were to order from you, what can they expect?

They can expect wedding stationery that is colourful, vibrant and different to anything else on the market. If they order a bespoke illustration of their venue or wedding location then they can also expect to receive a completely hand made work of art which is theirs to keep forever as a memento of their wedding day.

Whether ordering bespoke or from our range of templates, customers can definitely expect warm and friendly service from a supplier that really cares about making their wedding extra special and memorable.

How can couples judge if a company is the right fit for their wedding?

In my experience couples just know. You get a gut feeling, you just know that your values and the company’s are aligned and that their products can help you to express your own uniqueness.

What are your favourite moments from previous weddings you’ve been involved with?

I love it when I get to meet my customers. Usually most of my communication is via email and I’m not involved in the day itself so it’s great when I have an opportunity to meet a customer. Recently, I was able to hand deliver a big order to a customer who was flying in from the USA which was fantastic – amazing to see her reaction to her wedding stationery.

I also love being able to be more heavily involved in the weddings of friends and family; I loved creating all the paper goods for my best friend’s wedding and, at the wedding of another friend, I met my partner Tom so that was a very special wedding moment for me! We’re expecting our first child together in October.

The bigger picture – does your business offer goods/services outside of the wedding world? Tell us more

Absolutely! Beautiful giclee travel prints (or PDFs to print yourself) are also available in the Holly Anne Blake Etsy shop and I’m creating new work all the time so that more and more destinations are available to purchase.

These make perfect gifts for any one that loves travel and are often purchased as engagement/wedding gifts too.

What have you got planned for the next 12 months?

Expanding the product range is a big priority for the next 12 months and also getting our prints into the retail market.

And finally, what or who inspires you and why?

I’m inspired by anyone who manages to do what they love and turn their personal passion into a business. I follow lots of people like this on Instagram such as thisisrosabloom and annariflebond and they all inspire me to keep building my own business.

My mum also inspires me, she’s always been an amazing role model, working hard to have a comfortable life and provide me with every opportunity she can whenever possible. I love that I get to spend so much time with her by having my office at her house!
