Birtsmorton Court is a stunning Medieval Moated Manor house in the West Midlands, dating back to the 15th Century. In addition to being a Grade I listed building, Birtsmorton is still very much a family home and offers exclusive use of it’s elegantly decorated rooms and gorgeous gardens. You can even arrange a traditional church wedding in the pretty parish church in the grounds.
For civil ceremonies, there’s the 13th Century Great Hall, the Garden Room, and for those dreaming of exchanging vows outdoors, the White Garden is such an enchanting option.
Following your ceremony, your guests can enjoy drinks in the exquisite grounds, or, in the winter months, by a log fire in The Great Hall, both settings are super photogenic and ideal places for your guests to mingle, socialise and soak up the atmosphere of this fabulous venue.
With an equally enticing options for your wedding breakfast, including the Garden Room with it’s canopy of fairy lights, exposed wooden beams and windows looking out onto the courtyard garden. From March to October, the marquee makes a light and airy space to celebrate your wedding, it’s blank canvas design will encourage your imagination to go into overdrive. Or as we say at Girl gets Wed, dream it and do it!
Time now to hand you over to the team at Birtsmorton to tell you much more about their historical gem of a venue.

Do couples & their party have exclusive use of your venue?
Yes, Birtsmorton Court is a private family home that only holds one wedding a day which means on the day of your wedding, there is no one else on the grounds aside from you and your friends and family.
Venue capacity – How many guests can attend the day ceremony, if applicable, wedding breakfast & the evening reception?

Tell us a little about any packages you offer
We offer a completely bespoke wedding service, so we don’t offer packages as such. Instead we work closely with our couples to help them create a day that is truly unique and personal to them. Our couples choose which day of the week and month of the year they would like to get married and then everything else is built around them.
Do you have in-house catering, or preferred suppliers or are couples free to choose their own caterers?
We are delighted to work with two outstanding catering companies, Belle House Event Catering and Dine with Style. Both companies offer a complete and professional service that can be tailored to suit each of our couple’s individual needs from start to finish.
For the evening reception, our couples also have the option of bringing in an external catering van to serve up some tasty treats for their guests.
Can couples supply their own alcohol for the evening?
We offer a per person corkage so couples can bring their own drinks during the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and toasts.
During the evening all drinks can be purchased from our fully stocked bar, which includes a huge range of gins and craft beers and an extensive cocktail list.
Are couples completely free to choose their own wedding entertainment & do you have a specific sound system?
Our couples are free to choose any suppliers for the entertainment aspects of their day.
We do have a list of recommended suppliers with a few bands and DJs for our couples to use, but we are always delighted to meet new suppliers!
Do you offer accommodation on site? If so, for how many guests?
We have two contemporary farmhouses on site, that can accommodate up to 16 people in total. There’s also an exquisite Bridal Suite occupying a whole wing of the Court itself complete with four-poster bed, separate dressing room and far-reaching views over the whole estate and rolling Malvern Hills beyond.
Do you have an in-house wedding Co-Ordinator?
Yes. The Birtsmorton Events teams are dedicated to providing a flawless service to our couples and their guests.
During the booking process each couple is introduced to their own Wedding Co-Ordinator who, as well as having at least 2 detailed meetings with the couple, is also available via phone or email at any point leading up to the big day.
Your Wedding Co-Ordinator will be present on the day to ensure that everything runs as smoothly and efficiently as planned.
How far in advance can couples or their wedding stylist, florist etc. have access to the venue in order to decorate it?
If the venue is not in use the day before our couples, and any suppliers they have booked, are most welcome to make the most of the free day and begin to get the setting up underway.
If there is a wedding the day before the Birtsmorton Court Wedding Co-Ordinator’s will set everything up for you, so you can sit back, relax and get ready!
Do you have a Garden or an outdoor area for wedding photographs?
The Gardens at Birtsmorton are without a doubt one its most admired features. The White Garden is an immaculately sculpted wonderland filled with white flowers, rose covered archways and a whimsical fountain.
There’s a walled garden behind too, filled with colour for guests to explore. Some of our favourite photos are taken behind this garden in the vast corn field that overlooks the Worcestershire countryside. It’s the perfect place for our couples to steal a peaceful moment together to watch the sun set, and the pictures speak for themselves!
And we can’t forget to mention our historic moat which surrounds the court, perfect for that big group photo!
What’s the best advice to couples when choosing their perfect wedding venue?
Look for the venue that feels right for you. You might visit a venue and objectively see that it has a lot to offer, but if you can’t picture your own day there, or you don’t feel completely comfortable when walking around, then it’s not the right venue for you.
What are you favourite moments from previous weddings you’ve been involved with?
That’s a hard one! We have seen some pretty incredible things here at Birtsmorton Court! In the past year alone, we have had a Victorian carousel, an owl ring bearer, and an over 60s dance troupe crashing the first dance!
But, one moment that we all still talk about at every given opportunity came courtesy of two magical unicorns! Well, it was actually Shetland pony called Norman and an alpaca called Don dressed as unicorns, but I think that made it even better!
