Emma, the owner of Little Daisy Crafts is passionate about the design and detail of her work, and we’ll hand you over to her now to tell you more.

Tell us a little about yourself and your business

Hi, my names Emma and I am a country reared girl from a small town called Keady in Co.Armagh, Northern Ireland.  I would say I’m a very enthusiastic, loving person with a quirky personality. I’m a bit of a nerd – especially when it comes to design.

l have everything I need to do listed down in a pretty notebook and ticked off as I go along (a bit of a perfectionist). I’ve always loved being creative and I am very passionate about design in every aspect.

Little Daisy Crafts was brought to life only a few months ago when I launched my very own online wedding stationery boutique. We offer a wide range of unique and bespoke pre-designed stationery from wedding invites, rsvp’s to table plans and order of service booklets.

We also offer custom designed stationery for those lovely clients that already have an idea of how they want their wedding stationery themed – we work with you to develop the most beautiful designs. My huge passion is in hand-finishing our products, making them personal and individual to each lovely couple.

What motivated you to start your business?

I am very passionate about design and creativity. I wanted to project my knowledge of business and my design skills into my own company and be my own boss.

This is something I have always wanted to do; share my creative side and passion of design with others whilst providing excellent customer service to my clients.

I used to design stationery for family and friends; once I seen how positive and happy they were with what I could produce, I decided it was time I took the leap and went into entrepreneurship.

Tell us a little more about the day to day activities of your business.

I’m an early riser so it’s normally 8am I’m up, dressed, a bowl of cereal in hand and ready for the day. The first thing I’l do is check in with emails and my social media pages. I’m an organised person so no doubt there’ll be a list already made of things to do.

I’l dive into creating designs, contacting suppliers and wedding venues. If i’m out and about, I like to make sure I keep in touch with my clients. For example, last weekend I was camping with a group of friends where I knew my signal wouldn’t be great so I had scheduled posts and emails set up to aid this.

I pride myself in excellent customer services to ensure each clients needs are fully met and customised how they like it.

Our processes, whether it is a predesign or custom design are easy and fulfilling with the end goal being a beautiful design created with a personal touch.

How can couples judge if a company is the right fit for their wedding?

From experience, I think one of the most important things for getting a feel for the right company, is knowing the person or people you are dealing with.

First impressions are very important so I strive to provide excellent customer service for clients whether they contact via email, phone or in person. Discussing initial ideas either in a meeting or in person can determine whether a business fits your needs.Looking at examples of my work and what I offer is key.

I promote my work via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and of course my online stationery website. Outlining everything that you offer, clearly and in an engaging way can be a great way to attract couples. Customer feedback (either online feedback or word of mouth) can also be very important.

What are your favourite moments from previous weddings you’ve been involved with?

Oh there’s so many! Seeing my design journey; from initial ideas created in Illustrator, perfecting my final designs for my clients to receiving my products from the printers! It’s such a joy to watch the whole journey unfold and finally handle my designs in hardcopy formats.

I absolutely love adding the finishing touches to my hard copies; whether it’s adding rustic brown twine or dainty pearled gems to the designs. Hand crafting is the heart and sole of my business and it makes each clients order that little bit personal and unique for them.

I love prepping and packaging my orders, making sure each order is wrapped beautifully and unique to each client. I like to include little thank you cards for my clients and honestly just seeing how happy and delighted they are with the final product is just the most heart- warming feeling!

The bigger picture – does your business offer goods/services outside of the wedding world? Tell us more

My background is design, I have a degree in Multimedia and Design and although I want to focus on wedding stationery, I do offer other event stationery such as flyers, posters, business cards etc.

A ‘miscellaneous’ section will soon be featured on my site. Having designed and created my website myself with the help of Shopify that powers the online shop side of things, I feel gives my business that edge.

What have you got planned for 2017?

Well! This is definitely going to be a busy summer and rest of year for Little Daisy Crafts. I have a few wedding fairs lined up this year; one of which being the Stormont Hotel in September 2017 and hopefully more into the New Year.

I am continuing to get in contact with some amazing suppliers and wedding venues to promote my business further and expand my target audience.

I will soon be listed on a very popular wedding directory and will be continuing to connect and network with suppliers to enlighten my business to potential newly engaged couples.

Towards the end of this year, I will be launching a whole new collection to my pre-designed stationery items so keep your eyes peeled for that!

And finally, what or who inspires you and why?

Positivity, kindness and authentic creativity are three key things that inspire me every day.

Seeing the happiness on a couples face as they receive their bespoke orders is nothing short of beautiful. This inspires me to keep doing and focusing hard each day on expanding my business.

I love going around car boot sales and local craft fairs to take in the great sense of pride and imaginations of young and older generations – it is beautiful to see such passionate people out there with dreams, whether they’re big or small.
