Tell us a little about yourself and your business
We have a quite unusual story to tell. Unlike other florists, our passion to floristry was not born when we were still young, neither did we start an apprenticeship with another florist when we were teenagers. Not so long ago, in 2014, one of our friends was looking for young entrepreneurs to open a unique florist concept store at the front of his restaurant in Chelsea.
At that time, one of us was considering a change of career, while the other was happily working his 9 to 5. Having been given an opportunity, we decided to embark on the venture and take a big deep into the entwined world of flowers. Since then, we have developed our skills under the eyes of British, Polish, German and Swiss floral designers. We can truly say we have been globally trained.
Our style these days is reminiscent of poesy – we try to recreate an enchanted garden and give our brides and grooms an opportunity to add even more magic into their lives, especially in those special moments they are about to share.
What motivated you to start your business?
The opportunity to do something else in life and appreciation for beauty and nature were definitely the triggering points.
Tell us a little more about the day to day activities of your business
Oh, there’s a lot to mention. Our day normally starts very early in the morning with either a trip to the flower market and making arrangements for the day, or with the usual administration work involving research, producing mood boards, speaking with clients and planning ahead.
For us, every day is a lesson and we continue to learn a lot through our work with flowers, but also through meeting different clients and getting to know their life stories. In essence, we love to have a cup of coffee in a busy London café, meet our couples, and talk flowers.
If our readers were to order from you, what can they expect?
We are organised, creative, and we like to think we are really nice guys to work with. We always want to create a more personal relationship with our clients and are always ready to respond to questions and propose the best options. We strive to always put forward unique arrangements and exceed expectations.
How can couples judge if a company is the right fit for their wedding?
It is always best to grab your phone, speak to your florist, and make an appointment to meet them. An email is a good way to start the conversation but a face-to-face meeting is always more productive and best to discuss details, likes, needs and possible options. It’s a very personalised service and you need to be on the same wavelength with your florist for them to execute your idea perfectly.
What are your favourite moments from previous weddings you’ve been involved with?
After one of our recent weddings, the marrying couple and their parents gave us so many hugs and handshakes we felt overwhelmed. The groom’s mother said she ‘had tears in her eyes when she saw the room’. No one expected such beautiful results.
The bigger picture – does your business offer goods/services outside of the wedding world? Tell us more
We specialise in all kinds of events, from small private gatherings to big galas and corporate events, providing arrangements and installations including plants, flowers and many other features. That’s very technical, indeed.
In brief, we take any challenge and work with flowers as our medium. Our services are usually provided in the London area, however, on a few occasions we travelled far to deliver our Blooming Haus experience.
What have you got planned for the next 12 months?
One of us is in the process of becoming a Master Florist from a world-renowned school of floristry, so there’s a lot of preparations and study for that. We are also on a lookout for a bigger workshop as our business is expanding.
And finally, what or who inspires you and why?
Beauty that is not excessive, that has charm and aesthetics, that is stripped of the heavy elements but that keeps its delicate core, exposing its essence. It’s worth mentioning that fragrance and texture plays quite a big role in our compositions. We love to work with these elements and showcase flowers in their natural and full beauty.
