Nestled in the Essex countryside, That Amazing Place is an exclusive use venue. This means that when you book your wedding with them, the beautiful Manor House along with its 14 bedrooms (sleeping 29 guests) is exclusively yours for the day and night of your wedding.
Dating back to the 15th century, this historical grade II listed manor house has been beautifully renovated with stylish, contemporary interiors and elegant furnishings, offering a cosy and imitate “home from home” in which to welcome and entertain your guests.
Licensed for civil ceremonies, we can accommodate up to 70 guests in the Lakeview Lounge, or up to 100 people in The Hall with its stunning mirrored wall and high ceilings. Additionally, as a really romantic option during the summer months you can say your vows alfresco under the outdoor wedding gazebo situated next to the breathtaking backdrop of the lake.
With no minimum guest numbers That Amazing Place is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding. They can cater for up to 80 seated guests for a wedding breakfast inside the house or 150 guests in the dining marquee, available from 2018.

In order to make the planning of your special day as simple as possible, we offer the stress-free option of our wedding packages.
Classic Wedding Package – Our all-inclusive packages incorporate everything you need to make your wedding day perfect, along with a range of package upgrades for that extra special touch.
Twilight Wedding Package – If you are looking for a more relaxed wedding without the formality of a traditional sit-down wedding breakfast, then our Twilight Wedding Package would be perfect for you. This package option offers a late afternoon ceremony followed by a canape/drinks reception and delicious evening buffet, plus a fantastic DJ so that you can party the night away!
Do you have in-house catering, or preferred suppliers or are couples free to choose their own caterers?
We have our own carefully selected external caterers to have your menu tailor-made to your exact requirements. Whether you are looking for a traditional wedding breakfast or perhaps something less formal, our highly experienced caterers will work with you to create a delicious menu that is perfect for you and your budget.
Can couples supply their own alcohol for the evening? Is there a corkage fee?
No I’m afraid not, That Amazing Place oﬀers a fully licensed bar service with a selection of wines to suit every palate, along with a range of drinks packages tailored to your needs.
Are couples completely free to choose their own wedding entertainment & do you have a specific sound system?
The DJ comes as park of the package, but couple are free to add to him with their own live music.
Do you offer accommodation on site? If so, for how many guests?
That Amazing Place oﬀers exclusive overnight accommodation in our stylish and extremely comfortable bedrooms. With our new luxurious bridal suite (available from 2018) and 13 guest rooms (sleeping up to 27 people), not only does this give you complete privacy on your special day, but your guests can also relax and enjoy themselves without the hassle of having to worry about transport.
Your wedding day is a cherished time and this total exclusivity allows you to invite your closest family and friends to stay alongside you on your wedding night. We also provide a delicious hot breakfast in our dining room the following morning.
Do you have an in-house wedding co-ordinator?
Yes! Here to assist you, our highly experienced Event Manager and her small friendly team will assure you of their personal attention from your very ﬁrst meeting right up until to the end of your wedding day.

How far in advance can couples or their wedding stylist, florist etc have access to the venue in order to decorate it?
11:30 (sometimes earlier depending on what has happened the night before)
Do you have gardens or an outdoor area for wedding photographs?
Yes- With our picturesque location and breath taking views of the grounds and lake, That Amazing Place oﬀers the perfect backdrop for your special day.
From the long driveway up to the house on arrival, to enjoying reception drinks on the patio with views of the lake, all of your guests will enjoy the stunning scenery That Amazing Place has to oﬀer.
Our beautiful Grade II listed building with gorgeous surroundings, gated secret garden and orchard oﬀers an idyllic setting for your wedding photographs and your photographer will enjoy exploring the many photo opportunities within our grounds.
What’s your best advice to couples when choosing their perfect wedding venue?
Trust your instinct, you will know when it feels right.
Any finally, what are your favourite moments from previous wedding you’ve been involved with?
All of our weddings are totally unique and there’s a favourite movement from everyone, but the one that sticks out in my mind is when the singing waiters turned up at Jess and Callum’s wedding to surprise their guests. They were all so shocked, it was brilliant!
