We absolutely love Claire Pettibone’s couture collection and we want to share with you four of our favourite gowns that feature fantastic back details. The gowns themselves are ravishing, and then it’s almost like there’s a secret surprise when the bride turns around and you see how beautifully embellished the back of the dress is.
Claire’s collection embodies the very best of vintage romance with a whimsical bohemian spirit that we just adore here at Girl Gets Wed.
Gardens and vineyards are listed amongst Claire’s inspirations, and her use of sumptuous lace and delightful embroideries combine to make her gowns outstandingly beautiful.
Here are our fab four featuring those beautiful back details.
The Celestine Gown
Oh, we adore a halter neck, and what better way to show off those toned arms and sexy shoulders you’ve been working so hard get get in shape in the run up to your big day.
This Celestine wedding dress has such an elegant halter neckline enhanced with guipure lace applique. The dress itself features sumptuously beaded and sequined lace, with just enough of a sophisticated train to swish romantically along.
The real show stopper for us is the dramatic illusion back design inspired by the stained glass windows of the great European cathedrals. This is such a timeless shape and style that we just adore.
The Florence Gown
The front of the Florence gown is just a delight with French lace and silk embroidery inspired by richly adorned renascence cathedrals.
But here’s the thing, the sweetheart neckline and delicate capped sleeves are hiding a marvellous secret in the form of a sheer illusion back.
If ever there was a gown designed to shimmy along in, this is it as the sheer back is elaborately embellished with layers of fringed quatrefoil Guipure lace. This is a gown made for movement and you’ll feel a million dollars spinning round on your first dance in this.
The Iris Gown
The classic lines of the Iris gown are given a modern twist with a hint of blue thread and ivory sequins. The figure hugging bodice gives way to a soft feminine free flowing skirt, yet again it’s the back of the dress that is so enchanting.
Just look at the delightful detailing here. The back of this dress almost has a stained glass window look to it. Such pretty detail.
The Eternity Gown
The Eternity gown is so timeless in many ways. It has a classic, body enhancing fit and flare silhouette. A classic V neck design and form enhancing under bust ruching and the prettiest cap sleeves.
Again it’s the back of the gown that captivates us, as the illusion netting dips to the low waist with such sumptuous embroidery. We like to think of this as a truly magical midsummer inspired gown .
Isn’t this detail lovely and well worthy of it’s close up.
We do hope that you have enjoyed looking at just a handful of Claire Pettibone’s enchanting designs and we’ll bring you more from our favourite designers soon.
