by Michelle

It’s a dilemma so many brides have – you want to find your dream dress, but you don’t want to pay the earth. So what do you do? One answer is to take a look at Bridal Reloved which sells immaculate pre-owned wedding dresses. These dresses are either brand new, ex-sample or worn once and cleaned. They also sell veils, tiaras and other big day accessories.

And you don’t have to compromise on design either, Bridal Reloved currently have dresses by Jenny Packham,  Maggie Sottero, Ian Stuart, Justin Alexander and Claire Pettibone amongst others.

Over to Hannah now who runs the Bridal Reloved Franchise in Street, Somerset to tell you more.

Tell us a little about yourself and your business

Bridal Reloved was set up 5 years ago by Kate Atkinson, it is now the UK’s largest chain of preowned wedding dress boutiques. There are currently 10 Bridal Reloved stores across the U.K. with a further 3 stores ready to launch in within the next 12 months, so it’s a fab time to be part of this growing company.

The beauty of Bridal Reloved is that we are not tied to a limited number of designs; we have a wide range of designer dresses including Jenny Packham, Vera Wang, Sassi Holford, Ian Stuart and many more.

I came across Bridal Reloved myself 3 years ago when I was searching for my own wedding dress. I loved that I didn’t have to compromise on style, I was able to have a designer dress at just a fraction of the price.

We are located on the High Street in Street, Somerset. Our boutique is modern, welcoming and we have an incredible flower wall which is the perfect backdrop when trying on our stunning dresses.

We pride ourselves on delivering brides the experience they have dreamt about; private appointments, relaxing and friendly atmosphere,  free storage and steaming of dresses and a seamstress on hand for any necessary alterations.

What motivated you to start your business?

I have previously been a secondary school teacher for 5 years but it was having a huge impact on my work/life balance so I decided to try something new.

I loved everything about getting married and I knew that I wanted to become part of the wedding industry. I am passionate about wedding dresses and enjoy helping brides find their dream dress.

I loved the ethos of Bridal Reloved, everyone deserves the opportunity to find their dream dress and I hope that I’ve been able to help brides choose a dress they never thought they could have afforded before.

Tell us a little more about the day to day activities of your business

Most of my day involves advertising and promoting the business. We have a large social media presence and are keen to show potential brides what we have in store. Our Facebook page provides links to videos of our dresses on YouTube, so you can get a 360 degree view of their beauty. We also post dresses and updates on our Instagram account as well as providing wedding hints and tips on our Pinterest boards.

We offer appointments from Tuesday to Saturday, this is definitely the best part of the job – meeting beautiful brides, I love being part of such an importance moment for them and I work hard to ensure they have a memorable experience when they visit the boutique.

If our readers were to order from you, what can they expect?

Firstly, a warm welcome! Brides need to feel comfortable and happy, I like to find out a bit about their wedding and what they want from their dream dress.

All appointments are private, so you have the whole boutique to yourself and we encourage brides to try on lots of dresses.

We have a wide range of designers, styles, sizes and prices for all brides and we have a seamstress who can provide alterations.

As well as dresses we also stock a range of accessories such as veils and tiaras. We also enjoy working with other local suppliers and are able to recommend florists, cake makers etc. to help with wedding planning.

How can couples judge if a company is the right fit for their wedding?

People talk about getting a feeling when they find their dress and it really does happen. There’s no ‘hard sell’ with wedding dresses, a bride will know whether it’s the one. All I can hope is that I’ve made the process and enjoyable one.

What have you got planned for 2017?

2017 for me is all about establishing my Street store. I am in the process of arranging photoshoots with other local suppliers and I will be attending the Bath and West Wedding Showcase on the 23rd and 24th September 2017 at the Royal Bath and West Showground, Somerset; I’m really excited to get out and meet local brides!
