Tell us a little about yourself and your business
I first started Fross Wedding Collections over 10 years ago, it began in my converted garage with only a few bridal designers. Now 10 years on we have a spacious beautiful bridal boutique with a selection of some of the most well-known bridal designers. We pride ourselves on offering exemplary customer service and providing a relaxed and friendly environment in which to find your dream wedding gown.
What motivated you to start your business?
My mother made dresses for Berketex and I grew up watching her create gorgeous wedding gowns and became fascinated by this! My passion grew as I got older and this motivated me to begin my own bridal boutique with a carefully curated selection of stunning wedding gowns.
Tell us a little more about the day to day activities of your business.
We arrive in the morning and open our lovely boutique. We reply to all our emails and messages with a cup of tea whilst we prepare for our day! We have appointments daily where we allow an hour and a half to two hours for each lovely bride to browse our collection and try on the gowns she has selected. When we’re not running appointments we’re keeping up to date with all our social media and dealing with brides enquiries.
If our readers were to order from you, what can they expect?
Our gowns take around 4 – 6 months to arrive. Once a bride decides to order with us we congratulate her and then begin our order process. We explain that we are members of the RBA (Retail Bridal Association) which means that she has free cover and insurance. All our brides love this as it offers a sense of security and peace of mind! We take her measurements, order her gown and then contact her immediately upon the gowns arrival.
How can couples judge if a company is the right fit for their wedding?
Couples can judge if a supplier is correct fit for their wedding by researching which designers they stock, what their boutique is like and reading testimonials. Meeting the bridal consultants who will be with you through this journey is very important. Couples can do this through attending open evenings and wedding fairs to determine which company is the correct fit and offers the right atmosphere for them.
What are your favourite moments from previous weddings you’ve been involved with?
Though we don’t often attend the weddings of our lovely brides, our favourite moment is when they come in to collect their wedding gown and it’s the last time we see them before their big day! They are always so happy and pleased to see us and there’s a real sense of anticipation and excitement in the air.
The bigger picture – does your business offer goods/services outside of the wedding world? Tell us more.
What have you got planned for 2017? 2017 is going to be a very exciting and different year for us!
We’re taking on a new designer, receiving our new collections and hosting a whole lot of exclusive and thrilling events that every bride will want to be a part of! We also can’t wait to attend The White Gallery this May to mingle with all our designers and see some more gorgeous gowns.
And finally, what or who inspires you and why?
Every business woman who has made a name for herself and managed to prosper in her field through determination, hard work and maintaining a positive attitude inspires and motivates me every day!
